Logistics Software Development Services

Logistics applications that connect shipment information, operational handoffs, and customer visibility with clearly defined responsibilities and exceptions.

Discuss your project ↗

Logistics software needs to reflect how work moves between customers, operations teams, and external partners. EidenTech can develop order intake, shipment workspaces, document handling, and connected status views around your operating process. The scope identifies who confirms each milestone and what happens when information, capacity, or an external update is missing.

OUR DELIVERY PROCESS

How we approach your project

Validate an order before turning it into operational work

A customer request may arrive as an email, form, document, or API record. We define the required shipment fields, reference matching, allowed changes, and review needed before the request becomes an accepted job. Addresses, item descriptions, quantities, and service requirements can be incomplete or contradictory. An extraction step should preserve the original source and present uncertain information for correction. The workflow also needs a rule for repeated requests, so a forwarded email or integration retry does not create a second shipment accidentally.

Represent shipment milestones and ownership

Accepted, scheduled, collected, in transit, delayed, and delivered mean different things depending on the operating model. We agree the states, evidence, and roles permitted to update them. A partner notification may arrive late or out of sequence, so the system needs rules for reconciling events rather than overwriting a newer state blindly. Operations staff should see the next action and its owner. Customer views can present approved milestones without exposing internal notes or assuming that a displayed status is a guarantee about the final delivery time.

Connect documents and partners with explicit boundaries

Bookings, shipment documents, invoices, and delivery evidence may belong to different systems or parties. We map document visibility, version ownership, required review, and the references used to exchange records with supported partner APIs. An external service failure should leave the operation in a visible state with a recovery path. Credentials and customer information require appropriate access controls. Any route-specific commercial or regulatory requirements need review by the people responsible for them; generic software scope should not imply that a shipment automatically meets every operating requirement.

Design for exceptions and a controlled operational pilot

A logistics application must help resolve changed orders, missing documents, failed collections, duplicate events, and disputed status updates. We scope an exception workspace with useful context, assigned ownership, and recorded decisions. Automation may prepare or perform explicitly permitted actions, while consequential steps can require review. The first release can cover one defined operating flow and its partner connections. Acceptance scenarios follow a shipment through both normal and disrupted paths. Handover documents provider access, configuration, support ownership, and how operators investigate a delayed or rejected exchange.

SHAPED AROUND YOUR SCOPE

What we can deliver

We agree the requirements and responsibilities before development begins. Your project scope can include:

  • An operating and shipment-state model defining order validation, milestone ownership, documents, roles, and partner handoffs.
  • Order intake, operational shipment views, and scoped customer visibility with validation and permission-aware document access.
  • Supported partner connections and optional automation with duplicate handling, event reconciliation, and visible exceptions.
  • Normal and disrupted shipment acceptance scenarios, a controlled pilot plan, and operating and configuration documentation.
PRACTICAL ENGINEERING

Technology choices for your requirements

The stack follows your integrations, operating model, and maintenance needs. These are options to review during discovery, rather than a fixed stack promised for every project.

  • React or Next.js and TypeScript for shipment operations, administration, and customer-facing views.
  • A server-side workflow API and PostgreSQL records for references, state transitions, and reviewable exceptions.
  • Supported partner, email, document, and notification interfaces with durable jobs where the operating flow requires them.
BEFORE WE BEGIN

Planning questions, answered

Can software process shipment requests received by email?

Yes. We can scope ingestion and extraction of required fields, retain source references, and provide review for incomplete or uncertain requests. A request becomes operational work only after the agreed validation and authorization steps are complete.

Can customers track their shipment in a portal?

Yes. We define the milestones customers may see, who supplies the updates, and how fresh the information is. The portal should handle delayed or missing partner data clearly and protect other customers’ shipment and document records.

Can you connect carrier or freight partner systems?

Yes, where supported APIs, files, or other permitted interfaces are available. We review references, status meanings, access, and failure behaviour before implementation so partner-specific limitations are visible in the proposed operating flow.

Can the entire logistics workflow run autonomously?

We can plan increasing automation around validated inputs and explicitly permitted actions. The first scope should identify exceptions and review points, especially when a step has commercial consequences. Observed pilot behaviour helps decide which further actions can run without manual intervention.
