EIDENTECH / BUILT AROUND YOUR BUSINESS

Customer Portal Development Services

A practical self-service workspace where customers can find documents, track requests, and complete agreed actions with clear account access.

A customer portal gives repeat interactions a consistent home instead of asking customers to search email threads. EidenTech can develop a portal around the information customers need and the systems your team already uses. The scope begins with the customer’s tasks and the source of each record, rather than a dashboard template.

OUR DELIVERY PROCESS

How we approach your project

Choose the tasks customers can complete themselves

A portal might show a project update, accept a service request, share an approved document, or let a customer change limited account information. We identify which tasks should become self-service and which still need the team’s review. List the information customers repeatedly ask for, then map what they need to understand before taking an action. The first version should support a complete task with useful feedback. It should not expose every internal field just because those fields exist in a CRM or spreadsheet.

Model the relationship between people and accounts

One customer company may have several users with different responsibilities, while one user may represent several accounts. Invitations, account switching, delegated access, and removal need explicit rules. We plan account verification and recovery alongside sign-in, including what happens when a contact changes employers. Customer access is checked on the server for records, exports, and files. Testing should include shared links, revoked membership, guessed record identifiers, and a customer trying to see another account’s request or document.

Give requests and documents a clear lifecycle

A request needs understandable states, ownership, required information, and a route for follow-up. We map who may edit it after submission, when the customer is notified, and what counts as resolved. Document scope includes allowed formats, size limits, version history, visibility, and review where required. Customers should be able to distinguish a draft from the document currently approved for use. Failed uploads, missing attachments, and expired links need recovery paths that explain the problem without exposing storage details or internal credentials.

Connect a portal without duplicating business truth

Decide which system owns customer records, request status, and commercial information before synchronizing them. A portal may read from a business API and submit a change for approval instead of maintaining an independent copy. Where a copy is necessary, define refresh frequency, conflict handling, and the display shown while the source is unavailable. Integration testing covers repeated submissions and delayed updates. The customer’s acknowledgement should match what has actually been recorded; a successful screen must not hide a failed downstream action.

Prepare support and the account handover

Portal readiness includes the people operating it. We agree how staff invite customers, resolve access problems, manage request queues, and publish approved information. Keyboard access, mobile readability, status explanations, and realistic empty states are included in the main journeys. Release checks use representative accounts with different roles and a documented path for recovery. The handover records application and provider ownership, data export needs, and routine maintenance. Customer activity can then reveal which self-service tasks are useful and where a clearer workflow is still needed.

SHAPED AROUND YOUR SCOPE

What we can deliver

We agree the requirements and responsibilities before development begins. Your project scope can include:

  • A portal task map identifying customer accounts, user roles, permitted actions, and the source of each record.
  • Responsive account, document, and request views with server-side access checks for the agreed customer journeys.
  • Scoped integration flows with explicit record ownership, update behaviour, submission status, and failure recovery.
  • Account and permission acceptance checks, staff administration guidance, and a release and maintenance handover.
PRACTICAL ENGINEERING

Technology choices for your requirements

The stack follows your integrations, operating model, and maintenance needs. These are options to review during discovery, rather than a fixed stack promised for every project.

  • Next.js or React and TypeScript for responsive customer and administration interfaces.
  • Server-side authentication, role checks, and PostgreSQL records where the portal owns application data.
  • Supported CRM or business APIs and scoped object storage, selected around document and integration requirements.
BEFORE WE BEGIN

Planning questions, answered

Can the portal connect to our existing CRM?

Yes. We review available APIs, account relationships, permissions, and the records the portal needs. The scope should identify where changes are accepted and whether a customer edit updates the CRM directly or enters a review workflow.

Can different customer users see different information?

Yes. We can define roles, account membership, and record-level rules for the agreed journeys. Those checks must apply to backend responses and file access as well as the pages and controls visible in the interface.

Can customers upload files and follow a request?

Yes. File limits, permitted formats, visibility, request stages, and the team’s response process need to be defined. We also scope what happens when an upload fails or a submitted request is missing information.

Can we add a portal to our current website?

Yes. We can assess whether the existing application can support authenticated customer journeys or whether a connected portal should be built separately. Domain, sign-in, branding, and deployment ownership are reviewed before agreeing the implementation.
